It is a limitation of WSJT-X API that does not allow 3rd party apps from initiating QSOs with stations not calling CQ. I think it's to prevent "robot" software and/or to prevent jumping into the middle of a QSO between two parties if your "[ ] Hold Tx Freq" is unchecked.

WebI tried to made Gridtracker receive and decode JS8 after seeing your post and I couldn't get it to work. It does have a list of modes but it was set on "auto" as the default. I tried it both in "auto" and "JS8". So, I don't know what else needs to be set up. Nice idea though.
