WebJun 23, 2006 · I just received my Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 for Canon. The model number printed on the box is AF09E for Canon AF. When I check with tamron.com, bhphotovideo and other websites and they list the model for Canon as AF09C. Why there is a different designation if it's the same lens for the same camera? The 135 is obviously of the same line as this 28 - Vernon seems to have been a rather short-lived distributors brand for miscellaneous photo stuff in the 1960's, the usual teleconverters and filters, etc ...

I used to have the Tamron EF-M 18-200mm and Tamron EF-S 18-400mm, both have f6.3 at their tele end as wides aperture whereas the Af system works best up to f5.6. Although I was a happy user for 5 years, I ended up selling the 18-200 for the 18-400 as my travel zoom.
